Description
Got an XS650? If the answer is yes, then you’ve probably already experienced what 33-47 years of valve adjustments can do to the M6 Studs on your valve covers. Most have already been damaged by overtorque, pulled threads, vice grips, etc…
We’ve seen it all, and through our years of engine building services, we are now offering our little tricks/tips to ya’ll fine folks.
Don’t use crummy “chrome” aftermarket studs, they are softer than butter.
And definitely don’t use vice grips or pliers to install new ones either…
Out kit includes enough hardware and studs for an entire XS650 Engine (1969-71 XS1 or XS1b Not Included)
Toss those worn/damaged/mutilated studs for these Hardened Studs that use an allen wrench to install. No more damaged threads!
After your 5th valve adjustment, you’ll thank us!
Kit Includes:
9 Hardened Studs
9 Stainless Washers
9 Stainless Cap Screws
*Got a broken stud you can’t remove? Check out our XS650 Valve Cover Stud Fixture Kit in our store.
**Always check final install length – trimming the end after install may be necessary depending on OEM Thread Depth.

Great product, really high quality. Very easy to use compared to OEM.

Having these nearby during a valve adjustment or gasket change is a must. Having new studs that aren’t worn out has stopped multiple oil leaks already.
